Any bikers coming on vacation from the east coast or elsewhere of the US would find biking in Key Biscayne a real treat.
You can get around the island and over the Biscayne Bay in one to two hours with a lovely view of the ocean and the downtown Miami. Bike paths are clearly labeled both on the beach side and the highway as well. Key Biscayne is full of cyclists and you would never be short on company.
Unless you are a seasoned cyclist you may want to avoid going over the bridges, with only a 5-foot bike-path and a 4-foot wall, toss to the right and you'll fall down 300-yards into the Atlantic Ocean or lean to the left and you are on the 4-lane highway. However, the road is relatively flat all the way with the exception of a hill on one of the bridges. The views over the bridges are breathtaking.
This is March now and great for biking. I would not attempt crossing any of these bridges during a hurricane or winds over 20 MPH.
