An Ethiopian man was sentenced to 10-years in prison for genital mutilation of his daughter. A first U.S. conviction for an African custom. It is high time that immigrants are taught the social values of their adopted country from the moment they arrive here (legally of course).
We are aware that UNICEF has been addressing this misguided practice. We hope UNICEF repeatedly AND openly reminds African delegates of this horrible practice against the girl-child when African delegates attend Executive Board meetings and other UN meetings.
