Wresting for influence is a very good read for many a UNICEF staffer at work or retired. It is about the effectiveness of the UN and how rising countries and growing threats are challenging the pre-eminence of postwar global institutions.
We are also reaching a stage where the UN is considering consolidating development agencies to the extent that UNICEF may cease to exist or lose its identity. Who then will focus on the needs of children in the developing world the way UNICEF has done for the past 60+ years? Many of us think that UNICEF must stay the course othewise children stand the risk of being left out of the social development equation. We like to see more information on these events on the UNICEF website.
