In diversity, a common element should be that, human types are not singular. The plurality of diversity shows it in human structures, color, race, gender, language, religion, wealth, education, knowledge, behavior etc (more could add to the list). Of course, respecting diversity and respecting the fact that whatever multicultural or status standing, the other person, any person for that matter of fact deserves dignified treatment. Respecting diversity may mean that individuals may compellingly reduce some of their plural values that are offensive to others. As an example, I remember a passive rule in the UN offices in Bangladesh, asking of UN expatriates not to boast big cars in Bangladesh as it would be too offensive an act of an UN employee. Of course, UN staff was at liberty to ignore such a passive rule and many did. It was disgraceful to see many an UN staffer drive in to work in a big mustang or look-alike luxury vehicle; he should have instead taken a posting in Hollywood.
