The speed of the United Nations is considered too glacial to even stop an asteroid hitting the earth. Who will then take charge?
It can be a very interesting scientific study how the world's scientists can tackle the danger of asteroids causing devastating effects on planet earth, and when there are no borders in space it becomes tricky as to who is in charge. What the other four reports from the Economist have to say about America's annual gathering of scientists on this subject will make interesting reading.
If we only have better political science in this world, much of man-made asteroids can be destroyed before a collision. It is more than evident that the UN must reorganize to handle issues more swiftly before they become world catastrophes. Put on your thinking caps.
