What is it to be a leader includes giving credit in public for the good work of your subordinates. A good leader should accept the fact that he or she cannot know all things more than others. The responsibility of a good leader is to harness the knowledge of his or her subordinates in skillful managerial ways and not feel threatened by the general or specialized knowledge of other staff. A manager who does not feel threatened by the superior knowledge and contributions of his or her subordinates will be more than willing to acknowledge in public the contributions made by others.
