Welcome to the Merrill Pages
Since retiring as Budget Director from UNICEF, I have devoted my time to two academic passions, further intellectual inquiry and writing about challenging issues.
The Caspian Publishing Company (UK) in their journal of Financial Management publishes numerous business articles written by me. Other articles relating to UN issues publish in UNICEF Staff News and the IPS Terra Viva UN Journal. A few economic issues pertaining to Sri Lanka publish in local newspapers there from time to time. There are many references to my writings on the web. In addition, some writings sell at various institutions including Amazon.com, eBay and Highbeam.com. There are also references to my contributions at business conferences and many other books and academic papers. I therefore feel that I have made a valid contribution in my post-UNICEF life.
It has been difficult for me to write something and wait months to have it published. I sympathize with my editors since they have to please so many other writers and these editors receive hundred times more than they can publish at any time. Weeding through all the proposals and deciding what to publish is an enormous and painful task for editors. Writers have to be patient and must learn rejection as well.
However, I have had more to write than editors can cope with and I needed an outlet to self-publish my own articles by doing the writing, editing and producing myself. Furthermore, I like to reach the world, especially the UN world by taking advantage of 21st century fabulous technology. Blogging is a great form of publishing as it creates communication between the writer and reader. If you care to comment, please do not hesitate to do so. Moreover, I welcome you to comment. If you want me to write on a topic that might interest a number of people, or an issue that needs “stating”, I will be pleased to consider it.
I enjoy sharing with you the stories that were untold. We can develop new ideas and share them together from any place at any time, so please be a part of it.
I'm trying to find people who knew Merrill and would be willing to share his love for life with The Journal News and my cycling blog, Cycling Central - http://cycling.lohudblogs.com/
I would also like to have permission to use some of the photos from this site. Randall Wolf

Merrill, you will be greatly missed not just by your family, friends and neighbors, but by the world. Your humanitarian heart, your insightful wisdom, your desire to teach, learn and question will never be forgotten. Today, the earth seems a little darker with the loss of your presence, but the night skies will be brighter with it's newest shining star. Peace to all.
